found the above link on alt.philosophy

although atheists criticize the sole/body model (dualism) of theists

they search for the kernel of identity still

what body parts makeup the minimal neccesary for an identity/sole?

I think the definition of identity would have to be reduced to fit the
definition of a sole consciousness of self, otherwise other senses and
other things you mind with your mind would come into the
sole/identity/sole

did a creator give animals unlike plants a sole considering the above?
a consciousness that you are conscious?

the link above goes into some of the difficulties of related topics,

This is one of the arguments against the existence of
a self or soul. If in the body, where is it? If outside
the body, where is it? Nowhere. No such thing.

Many atheists are really just antichristians. They are
the ones still looking. Christians and antichristians
can easily find the answers to the "enduring" questions they pose,
but they don't like them. Regards Rale

If you don't like my message, why do you post to a Buddhist
group? Your reaction proves my point. Go away. Rale

That is a fault.

How many strands of spaghetti does it take to make an office
building? You can't make sense out of nonsense.
