There should be the Peace Button, whereupon if you press the Button, then peace blossoms in the world. This adds to imaginative exploration.

then maybe the location of the "peace blossoms" shouldn't be revealed,
leaving peaceful people the exploration of finding them

That's what's commonly referred to as the Big Red Button. It's not
actually a single button, but that works as a metaphor. If the U.S.
President presses that BRB, then peace blossoms in the world. In just a
few hours, there will be a beautiful display in locations throughout the
world, with peace "blossoming" in each. The heads of some other states
have similar "buttons", though only the Russians have the ability to
spread peace anywhere near as widely as the U.S. can. Is World Peace
really your goal?

Brings to mind a line from Mad Magazine's spoof, "The Rifle,

"There ain't nothin' more gentle and peaceful than a dead
man."

LOL. There was an episode of X Files where they encountered a genuine
genie. Mulder thought he'd figured out what the genie's victims had
done wrong in their wishing---they wished things for themselves. So he
made a wish for "peace on Earth". The genie did about what I'd have
done in the situation. There was peace, all over the Earth. So there
*is* something more gentle and peaceful than a dead man. Seven billion
dead people.

This was a black genie, of pure evil. Most people didn't even worry
about her during their wishes and they were easy to make go awry. I
feel the lesson is even if one makes clear concise English there is
no way around the cheating black genie.

No, I think she was white, though it's been a while so I may be
misremembering. I think she was French. As for the "pure evil" bit, no
again. She was simply a magical creature with restrictions, and did her
best to exercise her power within those restrictions, with as much
amusement as she could manage. If you want to hear about some magical
creatures that are truly evil, check out the Bible and it's main god.

I think the lesson was meant to be much simpler: "be careful what you
wish for." It's a common lesson in myths. The genie was not
"cheating"; she was following the rules. The same mentality is found in
a lot of fairy tales, with the fairies working around the rules rather
than breaking them. In some, fairies are strictly unable to outright
lie, and this brings out their creativity in finding ways to mislead
without lying. There's nothing "evil" or "cheating" about any of this.
For lessons in evil, check out Scooby Doo, with it's relentless
message that the real monsters always turn out to be humans. Or look to
real life, where we have evil monsters of the human variety show up
again and again.

If Mulder had kept the wish (left the sausage connected to his nose)
failsafes on machinery would have activated and it could have been
a grand ending ala Wargames.

What machinery? The episode was based on a powerful magical creature,
not a chess-fanatic computer. Did you see the show?

I meant the clockwork machines that go on. Cuckoo clocks, time-
activated sprinklers, space station programmatic actions. Do you
know the full extent of these?

autonomous vehicles...
So you're suggesting that, had Mulder not reversed the magical genie
wish that wiped out the Earth's human population, some automatic
sprinklers on the space station would have somehow reversed the wish and
repopulated the planet? I don't believe the script would have allowed that.
